Mars was the God of War. A real tough guy. Venus was the Goddess of Love. Get it? It also is a double meaning, we're so different in the way that we think and act that it's like we're from differnt planets.

Personally, I don't know what the heck he is talking about?
I am an Aries and my sign is ruled by Mars. Don't know anything about Venus and don't need to.
I happen to think (don't know for sure though, so don't quote me) but I believe... that the guy that wrote these books if it's that Gary something dude?
Well... He being a; Two time loser divorcee, once divorced from yet another female relationship -guru/ bullsh*it -sling-er, has somehow managed to; (Despite all of his infinite wisdom.)
Mix up the planetary signs and zodiac traits and just generalized and lumped every man and every woman into a pile of pretentious assumptive crud and duped everyone in the 80's into believing and quoting him. How come his book couldn't save his own marriages?
I was not that stupid then, and I'm still not now ... Don't like people who are much either.
If you want to read a great motivational speakers work. Read Plato. or Lou Tice. Both draw circles around the miniature intellect of these modern day book selling trolls.

Mainly because the astrological sign for the planet Mars, the circle with the arrow pointing upwards right is in biology the symbol for male, and the circle with the cross underneath is the astrological sign for the planet Venus, and used to denote female gender.
Of course the whole thing is a marketing ploy, it sounds good, and has a lot of connotations.

In ancient Roman mythology, the planet Mars was deemed the God of War due to the red coloring they observed.
The planet Venus was the Goddess of Love since her bright beauty outshone most everything else in the night sky.

Mars was the Roman god of war and venus was the female god of love. Since those two themes are more often associated with their respective gender, the names stuck

Because somebody with or without a PhD decided to focus on the DIFFERENCES between men and women, and THAT is the correct answer!
(It has nothing to do with astrology or the planets! Men and women are from the same planet!)

Because in Roman mythology Mars is the God of War and Venus is the Goddess of Love.
Women tend to operate from a place of emotion. Men tend to think and operate from a place of power. Men are more likely to get into those whose d*ck is bigger type arguments and pissing contests.
