In response to the freak with a buch of dots for a username (what up with that?)... I know the answer... I just need someone to elaborate upon it... I mean... really, you are being so immature, trying to get other people to do your homework for you!!!!!! its really rude, and you didn't even say please or ask for HELP, you just posted the problem and expected some one who had time on their hands to do it for you. you sound like some lazy 11 year old (cause I read gathering blue in 6th grade) who I bet didn't even read the book. come on, people cant do stuff for you for the rest of your life, you've got to learn to face your own problems, cause someone here is gonna give you the wrong answer on purpose, and I say, thats good, because thats what you get for taking the easy way out. besides, its a really good book and you'd probably learn something from it because you sound like an uncultured, lazy, too-cool-to-do-school-work kinda person who doesnt know what they're doing with their life and doesn't care. I pity you.

ok from what i can remember(i havent read this book in 3 years), she portrays herself as a courageous person, in spite of what she has gone through(death of her mother). I can't remember when it was then that the council decided to give her the job of the quilt thing..you gotta find out on your own.
