The car is old, if it is all beat to crap, just paint it will a brush, with any kind of paint your find, like maybe barn red, or catapillar yellow.

the primer is not a sealer but just a base for the paint which will become the sealer. If you leave it like that, it will start rusting from underneath the primer and when you do decide to paint it, the paint won't stay on for long. Should remember that if using lacquer paint, then you will also need clear coat. If you are wondering what color to paint the car, then just go down to a body shop and ask for different opinions and prices. Odds are they may have painted several of those cars and now have a pretty good idea what a nice color would be. My suggestion would be 'pearl white'.

I Hope a sand-able primer was used or you could be in for problems. No do not spray with a sealer if you intend to use a final color coat. On line colors may not reflect what you want to see. So you need to go to a shop and get the colors out in the natural light before you make a final selection.

If you took any part of it down to bare metal and have only a standard primer on it, you should seal it. Standard primer will absorb moisture and trap it between the primer and body. Anyplace that has only primer for protection will begin to rust almost immediately, you just won't see it for a while.
Of course it all depends on where you live. If you're in San Diego it won't matter as much as if you're in Chicago.

Primer is only used to adhere to the surface to be painted.
And, so the paint has a surface to adhere to.
It does not seal out moisture.
Sorry, I dont know where to go online to view optional colors.
One option is to got to (depending where you live) Les Shuab Tires and use their computer display thingie for wheels.
You can enter your car make, year, and color. It's kinda cool..
Good luck.
