The fact that he is four makes me think you should approach this differently... I think you should find out which nursery rhymes he knows and work with that.

A good one might be 'Old McDonald Had a Farm' then he could either be the farmer or pretty much any animal that springs to mind.

I also think 'I'm a little teapot' would be fabulous and very cute! He could do the actions and everything.

There are loads and some good ones have been posted already but I still think working with what you got will make life a lot easier.

I have this site that i use with some children I work with. Its quite handy cos it actually plays the tunes too. Might be useful when you are rehearsing.

Anyway I am sure it will be wonderful and don't forget to take loads of photos cos they will be totally priceless when he is a teenager and brings home a girlfriend! ;-)

Have fun and let us know what you decide please.

How about....Little boy blue, come blow your horn
The sheeps in the meadow,
The cows in the corn
but where is the boy that
looks after the sheep?
He's under a haystack fast asleep.
Will you wake him?
NO not I for if i do....
hes sure to cry.

He would need to wear a blue shirt or something blue maybe an old fashioned cap (little boy blue), then jeans, suspenders maybe, give an old fashioned look.

Good luck! whatever you do, so glad its not just my kids school that think we mom's dont have a life! :)

Little Jack Horner? Humpty Dumpty? Little Tommy Tucker? Rub-a-Dub-Dub? Go to his closet and your husband's start pulling out whatever matches the nursery rhyme. There are hundreds on line, too. Good luck.

Any of the boys from the rhymes would be easy to do, like Georgie Peorgie or Little Boy Blue. You could dress him in those knicker pants they used to wear (and I've seen them in the stores for kids this season) or roll up his current pants. Then get him one of those hats boys used to wear, any color for Georgie Peorgie, or blue for Little Boy Blue (for this also have him wear a blue shirt, and he could carry a stuffed cow or sheep). Or he could be Little Jack Horner and he could carry around a pie on the stage (a fake pie), and you could smear something purple (like Halloween face paint) around his mouth and on his hand, especially on his thumb. Or Wee Willie Winkie and he could be in pajamas, a sleep cap and he could carry a clock, just one of those cheap plain wall clocks.

Old King cole, a crown a pipe and a bowl

Good luck, I think teachers get some kind of kick out of thinking up things like this!

Wee willie winkie. Put him in long pyjamas. Give him a candle on a plate. Make him a long hat thing if you have the time, shouldn't take too long.

Good luck

Little Boy Blue. Just dress him in blue and cut out a fake horn. Or Jack Be Nimble and he can jump over a candlestick! (made of paper)
