Here's a wonderful website for learning geography--- the first level teaches you the states, and then higher levels test your knowledge in a fun way that's memorable!

Tip!
Sketch out an Atlas of the United States which each State clearly outlined. Then cut out all 50 States like a jigsaw puzzle- when you can put them all back in order easily- Voila! you will have taught yourself American Geography

First head to http://www.50states.com/.
Look at the screen (as I am doing right now) for about 10 minutes. Take a deep breath, relax, don't worry about the figure 50, you can imagine that to 5!

Now, let's click on the state http://www.50states.com/us.htm
Here we have a map, let us spend another 10 minutes of our meditation time on this page!

Read each state loud, repeat it 10 times, if you can do it like 20, that's even better.

I like to read from top left to bottom then go to top right to top bottom, but what ever feels comfirtable to you, go ahead do it.

You should draw map of USA, with states and write the names down. Start drawing maps and writing names now. Repeat this process as needed so you can draw the entire map without having to look at the original map. That's it!

I found naming each vertical lines as a single word a bit easier to remember, and here is what i did

AK
WAORCA
IDNZUTAZ
MTWYCONM
NDSDNEKSOKTX
MNIAMOARLA
so and so ....
(just make your own patterns that is easier for you to remember)

It might take more than a day, so don't give up.
Keep drawing the map and writing the states. Learn about each state and get as much information as you can like their slogan, (sorry i am not an american!... like North Carolina "First in Flight", and Florida "Sunshine State", NY "the empire state". The more you make yourself interested in each state the more you will remember them. Lets visit these sites and have fun.

Alright, thats' enough..
sorry this was suppose to be full of answers to your question,
but it looks like you got more homeworks here to do!! Well, the more you know about the states, the more you will be able to answer.

Good luck to you.

Well you might try talking on the phone all the time, playing a retarded game on your x-box/ps2, watching MTV cribs, or pimp my ride, driving around town and smoking cigs and dissing all the little people, go to the mall and buy a bunch of crap that you really don't need. Or maybe you might just sit down and study the map... Trust me babe there are no short cuts to learn this you just have to focus on it and get it done. effort and hard work will see you through.... Or sit by a really smart person and copy....

You just have to memorize them once by staring at the map. They don't tend to move around much so it is not like you need to learn a daily update.

There's a song listing all the states in alphabetical order.
I learned it as a kid.
I'm sure you've heard it.
"Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkasas, California, Colorado Connecticut,...etc"
Look it up,... I'm sure its on here somewhere. (the web)

As for "WHERE" which i'm just now realizing that's the question u asked,.... good question!

Anybody else?
