My heart goes out to you. I have IBS, which is Irritable Bowel Syndrome. I go from bad to worse then back again. Its awful living like this. I always have to stop when I go anywhere in my car and use the restroom. They say diverticulitis is worse. You really need to go see a gastroenerologist if the doctor your seeing now is not helping you.

When I have diarrhoea I take charcoal tablets from the health shop or chemist. Usually two are enough and it is a quick cure for me. Try and find natural cures and stay away from doctors and their drugs. Drink clean water (rain water is best) regularly to flush out toxins from the body. Where possible eat food fresh from nature and not fresh product from the supermarket. Make good food your medicine. I know how you feel and hope this helps. My wife is a Remedial Massage Therapist and refers to readily available publications listing possible side effects of drugs. Diarrhoea is a common side effect of Zantac. Ibs and colitis are commonly misdiagnosed. Your occupation, if it involves sitting for extended periods, will progressivly tighten your Psoas muscle, pressing on your intestines hence the effect you describe. I would suggest eliminating all white flour and sugar products and increasing the fibre in your diet through whole grain foods and I would also suggest you seek a massage specifically for the Psoas muscle, from a suitably trained therapist. If the Psoas muscle is involved so also will be the Quadratus Lumborum. Can you please copy exactly the names of the drugs you are taking? For the time being I suggest a very bland diet. Avoid fat in any form. Boil all water. Boiled brown rice and honey. Wholegrain toast with a smear of jam or vegemite or similar for three days with the charcoal tablets should fix the diarrhoea. Your condition is obviously stressful and stress can cause diarrhoea also. Hope this also helps. My wife has had great success treating many clients who have had this problem. Good Luck.

Well, often immodium helps with diarrhea...but, if you have colitis, you should be talking to a gastroenterologist about controlling your symptoms.
