I've got an old CX500 and it seems to average somewhere in the 40-50 mpg range.

These are the only #s I have -
1979 CX500 - 51.8 mpg
1980 CX500C - 50 mpg

The big question is how much tread do your shoes have when it quits running.
Should get 40 - 50 miles.
Change oil, filter, air filter, plugs and plug wires and you will get even more.
Don't forget to check the tire pressure.
I realize you probably knew all these tips anyway.
