If you think he is a strong leader, then you would be 'pro' your argument.

Yeah, strong doesn't necessarily mean 'good.'

I believe he is a strong leader in some ways and not in some. I like his stead fast focus on fighting terrorism by taking the offensive. Remember we haven't had a big attack here at home since 911 2001. I like the fact that he realizes that it's the people who run the economy not the government. Thus the tax cuts which help people to create new businesses at a time when out sourcing of jobs is at an all time high. Our unemployment is at a record low and the economy is roaring despite what some would have you think. I think his stance on immigration is weak. Also I think he spends too much money on government programs that are being run by politicians instead of letting the states run them like education. We spend more money now on education and have less to show for it then ever before. Too many people handling the money with sticky fingers. Most of that money never gets to where it will do the most good to you the students. But all in all I give him a B- for his efforts as president in a tuff time.

Vision:
Bush once answered this question about leadership (grade schooler asked if it was hard to make a decision) and he said if you know what way the wind is blowing, then making a decision isn't as tough as it seems. This is definitely his strongest point - he has a vision so all his decisions revolve around that vision.

Teamwork:
He also indicated he relies heavily on the expertise of those around him (mentioned this on CNN in his first term if I recall) - he knows he can't know everything, so he surrounds himself by the 'top of the class'. This demonstrates his skills in developing a strong team.

Evaluating Alternatives:
He also had two key writers that usually had opposing viewpoints for his speeches (Karl Rove and Karen Hughes) - in this regards - it shows Bush takes into considerations different viewpoints/angles (but ultimately he's the one who makes the call). Good leaders take into considerations different alternatives, and this is what Bush does.

I'd definitely stear clear about the actual decisions he's made and focus on the attributes that make a good leader instead. May also want to peruse through his speeches (link below) for some good quotes.

Good luck!

A strong leader is someone who can go in a particular direction, and can press on regardless of obstacles.

Lemmings often have strong and effective leaders. That doesn't mean going over the cliff is a smart thing to do.

Mafia families and street gangs often have strong leaders too. But the ability to stay the course and follow through with a plan doesn't mean much when the plan, or the means used, are illegal.

In the Michael Moore documenatry Fahrenheit 911, Bush´s leadership qualities were brilliantly displayed. He was sat in a school in florida, when an aide came in and informed him of the attacks on the twin towers. He sat there completely BLANK and IMMOBILE for 7 minutes until somebody came in and told him what to do. This whole episode was caught on camera.
Bush is just a puppet, dont pull his strings, his mouth doesnt move.

George Bush is a coke snorting, alcoholic that has no morals. He may think he is strong but it is because he has a rubber stamp congress, when the democrats take back one or both of the houses this November you will see a differant George Bush one that has to compromise to get anything done.

I'll tell you how strong he is. 46 Troops were killed in the
month of July, 49 people were murdered in Philadelphia.
His own country is a mess & he just goes on like everything
is fine. It's far from fine, the middle class is sinking & the
number 1 cause of crime is poverty.
He'll never do anything about it, because he'll never admit
to the poverty that has resulted from his self absorbed
administration.
Who, I might add, vote themselves another needless raise
every 4 months. It's disturbing.

What in particular do you think is stupid about fighting terrorist? Do you believe doing what other people want you to do makes you a strong leader? When President Bush wanted to go to war with Iraq he went to congress to get permission. Democrats in congress voted, overwhelmingly, to go to war. Today they have changed their minds. President Bush committed soldiers to what they agreed to and committed to the task authorized by congress. Wouldn't you agree it would be wrong not to Finnish what he started, that the Democrats agreed to? It is good to study this and ask questions. I hope you can find people that will answer your questions honestly. The Democrats do not want to remember they voted to go to war. We were united, in this country, when we went to war. It is those who oppose the President who have decided to change course. I do not believe the president wants to be at war, but none of us want to be attacked again. Bill Clinton did very little to fight the terrorist and they became embolden by the lack of response. This president, our leader, will not do the same.

bush said"i don't run my presidency by polls, i do what feels right in my gut".that's wrong, that describes what a dictator would say . in a democracy he is suppose to do what a majority of the people want. right now he is robbing the taxpayers blind with the no bid contracts with haliberton, blackwater, titan etc.republican congress blocked bill to make war profiteering illegal. its perfectly LEGAL still. haliberton pres. Lazard has made $ 100,000,000 . not the company ,him personally, profiting from war and death.
