Just find a good brand that's dermogically tested and you should be fine... try different stuff.... try samples before buying. make-up doesnt have to be expensive to be good. just buy what works best for you.

In a way, yes. There are probably a lot of more expensive brands (such as Clinique, Mac, Lancome, etc) that perform better than mass market brands found in stores. However, brands like L'Oréal Paris, Almay, Max Factor, Revlon, and Neutrogena are fantastic. You just have to figure out each brand's strengths and weaknesses. For example, I think Almay's foundations are their weakness. They are heavy, masky, and don't have a good range in color choices. However, their lip products and mascaras are awesome.
You also should figure out which brands work for you the best. In the end, you may find that the expensive brands can't compete with the mass markets. However, if you take the time to figure out which one works best for you, you may find a mass market brand name product that works just as well (or better) than the expensive brand's.

all makeup is made from alot of the same ingrediants. You can look it up and you will see that they all are made formt he same things. i know some =brands add some extra of this or that and only that will make any difference. So just buy what you like and can afford. Just bc you spend $10 on your makeup doesnt mean you get a lesser quality than the expensive stuff

i've used covergirl for over 10 years and it works fine for me; i think it depends on the person. some folks want a more ultra-glamorous look than you might be able to get with something in the store. also, the advantage of those more expensive brands is you often get a demonstration to show you how to use it.

My friend swears by her expensive makeup, but I'm happy using Almay or Loreal. Believe it or not, Maybelliene mascara in the pink tube is the most popular mascara in the US and Glamour and Allure have rated it highly.

yeah all the eyeshadows, eye liners, blush, lipsticks, lipliner, lipgloss, and mascara are the same but the foundation, powders and concealors aren't. If you really want a drugstore foundation use neutrogena, almay, or maybeline matte mousse. Mark, Flirt Cosmetics, and Avon are cheap good cosmetic brands they are better than drugstore cosmetics.
