how do I keep my jackets from turning really dirty looking...stains etc... I don't have any aprons-full, I know that will help but what else would??!!

Wash them in really HOT water with bleach.

I would recommend the apron. That's what they are made for. Aprons seem to be catching on as a fashionable thing again - and women look nice in them.
If not, a dishtowel may work - or a smock.

i also cook and found that washing my kitchen whites with ****'nspan instead of detergent and bleach works wonderfully
