It was a stupid beardy type thing, but people always ask why Gary Neville always has that stupid tash.
The reason for this is that, footballers are advised not to shave the day of a game or even earlier, due to the sweat they produce causes irritation to cleanly shaven skin.
I am not saying for a minute that that was a days growth (and really liked the Geri Halliwell answer), but that is the reason Rooney has no shame when it comes to his Ginger beard!

I thought this might be an outside bet, but, I reckon it's a beard! I'm probably wrong but that is my final answer. It's either that or he has become as rusty visually matched with his rusty current form on the pitch! All he needs now is a Jack Russell and a Caravan to match his Gypsie status!
