Isn't marriage something a man set up with the law to trap a woman?
The second a woman signs that contract, the man owns her. He can do whatever he wants and the woman has to accept it and stay with him or she loses everything. That law has no benefit for the woman.

It used to be the opposite but I guess to some degree you're right. But they didn't set it up, men did. Luckily women do better in school than men so soon they'll make more money than us. This means that divorce will benefit the man and so power will be restored.

Yes, it's been around since the garden of eden. actually, the woman got the tough end cause she was given birth pangs, and told that her craving would be for her husband and he would dominate her. Genesis 3 ;16. just look at the history of mankind, men have oftentimes mistreated women and still do in some countries today.

Maybe not.
One thing to bear in mind though is that research has shown married men to live significantly longer than unmarried/divorced men, whereas the reverse is true for women. Therefore whilst marriage may financially benefit the woman, it knocks years off her life.

Depends on what kinda woman a man is marrying...the fault is in the parties involved, not the actual contract.
NOthing wrong with signing a credit contract, is there? But if the bank screws you with tricky wording, then the bank is wrong. If you default, then you are wrong.

nice try. Marriage has long been a contract between two men over the ownership of a woman. its only in the past hundred years oor so that the woman even had any say in the matter.

It was the other way around. The man was trying to stake his exclusive claim on the female so that he would know whether the offspring was his (and have the law on his side if it was not).

spoken like a man who's in a bad place.
God instituted marriage in the Garden of Eden and yes it's all gone down hill since then.

Quite the other way around, Kazar. Historically, once a woman was married she became her husband's "property", and thus treated however he saw fit.

That is why you marry someone you trust and love instead of some girl you knock up.
