Are Jack and Jennifer really leaving the show? Is Marlena? I have missed a while of the show and would like to catch up.

Casting News
The list of cast casualties on DAYS is now up to six. Matt Ashford (Jack) and Melissa Reeves (Jennifer) (although Reeves chose to leave) will last air as Jack and Jennifer on September 21. Austin Peck (Austin) and Christie Clark (Carrie) will last air sometime in October (their last tape date is September 29). Brody Hutzler will leave when his contract expires in February. Billy Warlock (Frankie), who wed co-star Julie Pinson on August 26, will leave ... eventually. The exact date is unknown. Also rumored to be up for an exodus is Judi Evans, whose contract is up ... well, now.
Jason Cook, Kyle Brandt and Farah Fath have all chosen to leave the show. Cook will last air on Friday, September 22, and is being replaced by Brandon Beemer, who formerly recurred as Seth on GH starting on Thursday, September 28. Brandt's last air date is October 12, and it is unknown if he is being replaced or not but most likely not right away. Fath has until her contract expires in February 2007 (she asked to be let out early), but the show could cut her at any time.

Jack and Jennifer left the show already......off to London. Carrie and Austin are supposed to be leaving as well as Philip and Mimi. There will be a new Shawn and I haven't heard anything about Marlena leaving. There is a new writer and I guess this is his way of getting better ratings. I did read that he wants to get the Horton's back in the front of the show. So hoping that means that Bo and Hope get back together.

"Hogestyn (John) and Hall (Marlena) returned on August 10, however, Matthew Ashford (Jack) and Melissa Reeves (Jennifer) left the series in September. It was also announced that both Kyle Brandt (Phillip) and Farah Fath (Mimi) will also leave the show, after both stars agreed to a short-term deal in the wake of the changes, and in the case of Fath, was asked to be let go early. Another cast member, Jason Cook (Shawn), left the series, on September 21, as his contract expired, Brandon Beemer comes on as Shawn September 28th. According to TV Guide the list of actors leaving also includes Billy Warlock (Frankie) who will leave sometime in the fall, Brody Hutzler (Patrick) who will leave in February of 2007, Austin Peck (Austin), and Christie Clark (Carrie)who will both leave in October. Rumors are circulatng that there will be more focus on African American characters. Rumors are also circulating that Joseph Mascolo (Stefano DiMera) will be returning in November, which should be interesting given the 2005 "Melaswen" storyline that had Tony claiming that he killed his father."

I don't know what's going on with Days. It's like they have hired all new writers who have no clue as to what has been going on since day one. I'm about fed up (again). I quit watching for a couple of years when they did the possession garbage, almost quit when they brought all the dead people back to life, and now - - - - who knows?

They've got to do something to get ratings. They're going in the wrong direction, everyone I know quit watching a long time ago.

I don't watch, but if the ratings and numbers make it appear like "Daze of Our Lives," networks will do what they can to infuse new blood or change it up to boost ratings.
