Following the dosage is OK. Personally I find Ibuprofen (generic Motrin) to be better at helping with cramps - but ibuprofen can delay your period a bit.

Tylenol can be bad for you, but all pain relievers can be bad for you as well. The liver has a difficult time processing acetominaphen (sp?), the active ingredient in Tylenol. But as long as you follow the directions on the bottle and take only recomended doses at recomended times, then you should be okay. And never take Tylenol if you have any alcohol in your system, this will cause you some problems.

Taking more tylenol than prescribed on the bottle or taking it over a long period of time can damage your liver. If you're only taking them once a month you should be fine, just don't exceed the dosage on the bottle in a day.
