Good question, there are two types of natural occuring twins monozygotic and dizygotic mono come from the same egg di are different eggs mono ARE genetically the same and are often called identicle twins. A clone is an organism which has the same genetic content as another organism biologically. By distant if you mean they are not the same age which is the only difference between clones and identicle twins (genetically) then you are right to postulate that so... Clones are identicle twins which are of different ages.

You can't be a distant twin; twins come from the same womb. Also twins do not have the same genetic makeup. Clones, however, are not twins, they are genetically identical; they are essentially the same person, scientifically. But science sucks like that. A clone is created from the "original's" DNA

No twins are 2 separate people who are almost identical or sometimes different but they were in the womb together but a completely separate person from the parents.A clone is no ones twin its essentially the same person as the parent.

No, clones are not twins of any sort because twins must share the same set of parents regardless of their physical apapearance. Look at fraternal twins - some sets don't even look like siblings!
Clones are either one of two things:
1. In biology - organisms that share the same exact DNA as the one whose DNA was copied by a lab technician. Human cloning has never been attempted for many reasons, ethics being just one of them. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cloning
2. On this forum - "sock-puppet accounts" created for the purpose of impersonating another user by copying their screen name, bio, and Avatar to post embarrassing questions and answers they'd never post themself. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AhpIAZR6MiwHUWxnbLV_d9rsy6IX?qid=20060826123542AAPuCHI

No, twins are gestated in their mother's uterus at the same time. Clones are just clones, replicas of existing organisms, tissues, cells etc.

Not really clones are exactly alike in a way and twins are not exactly the same.
