Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr I can do answers, but can't check mail. Why would they do that?

Because your employer SUCKS, that's why! You should have the same employer I have...hehehehehe...or you could always go back to show biz. Throwing tantrums on the set, demanding that all the brown M&Ms be picked out...I'm sure you could finagle a way to check email too.

Many employers block personal email access for two main reasons:
1. Viruses
2. Work time spent on personal stuff

If your computer at your job has a blocker on it for certain websites and emails its because they are trying to keep spam and viruses out. And they could be doing it because its work time and not play time.

maybe because they don't want you answering your personal emails while at work--guess they don't want to pay you to check your email, man.
