go as all the suspects from the game Clue like Colonel Mustard. Or have each person dress entirely in one of the colors of the rainbow...it would help if you could all wear the same clothes ( such as track suits and a bandanna on your heads ) but each of the 7 different colors. Make half-face masks to match outfit. You would look smashing standing as a group in the correct order.

Go through classic childrens stories and dress up as a group from the story like the characters from The Wizard of Oz or the seven dwarfs. Do something children can recognize. Kids love that. When I taught pre-k I dressed up as Elle Mae one year. The kids thought I was nothing more than just a cow girl but they loved it since I had a stuffed animal hog tied to my waste and I brought in a stick horse. The kids loved it.

A theme from an ancient Greek comedy like the"Peace"of Aristophanes.Interesting and appropriate story and you can put a lot of fantasy in costumes.

Why don't you dress up a group like a laundry room. One person can be the washing machine, another the dryer, a laundry basket, laundry detergent etc.
We did this last year with my daughter and her group of friends. People loved it.
