Look at it this way, you are going to mug someone, one city nearby has a no gun law sort of like DC and the adjoining city where you are at has a concealed carry law and a lot of people go armed.

What are you going to do? Well you have a choice, you can mug someone where you are at and you just might get shot, or you can hop over to the DC like city and rob people with impunity.

Now I would have to guess that the bad guys do not like concealed carry laws because they just never know who is packing.

I live outside a large city. Most of the time I never carry a weapon although licensed to do because most of the suburbs are pretty safe. The big city however has done everything in its power to stop citizens from carrying weapons, up to breaking the state law and being forced to issue permits. When I go to the city I ALWAYS carry and so does my wife.

I am not sure it makes me feel any safer, probably I am not any safer from attack, but I do know we are not going to be victims and that does make be feel better.

When airplane hijacking started years ago old Archie Bunker had a great suggestion to meathead on how to stop it, issue a hand gun to each passenger as they get on the plane. Not a bad idea really.

A weapon is safe, when stored in a safe, without rounds in the chamber, and the clip is disengaged, and the safety is on.

A concealed weapon is not safe. You are armed, and could be perceived as willing to use the weapon. I have only carried weapons in military related environments, and I felt safest whe the weapons were turned in at the end of a day.

No, a concealed weapon does not make you safe. Ask all the folks who got shot, stabbed, etc. with their own. Learning to handle the weapon and handle yourself in a crisis, though, goes a long way toward safety. And staying out of places where bad things happens helps, too.

Nope. Just because you carry a weapon can make you a target. Better off without one.

you've all of it incorrect. the reason that Vermont is the 2d safest state contained in the Union, and DC is the fourth maximum deadly is as a results of type of airports. Vermont has sixty one airports (9.791 for each 100,000 human beings), at the same time as DC only has 2 airports (.363 for each 100,000 human beings). human beings in DC get so annoyed waiting in lines for airplanes, that it makes them extra offended, and for this reason, extra weak to violence... did you keep in mind that Vermont is #2 contained in the rustic for using marijuana contained in the superb 3 hundred and sixty 5 days (#5 in drug use average) and #6 contained in the type of heavy drinkers? possibly it really is why their crime cost is so low! they are all wasted!! possibly we ought to continually only get rid of each of the drug guidelines... somewhat, you want to examine 3 mandatory records. Vermont is #2 contained in the optimal median age of voters - so lots of the voters have grown out of their violent inclinations. it really is 96% white (and that i don't think of it really is the certain ethnicity, it really is only that they are an identical - i imagine you would have a lot less crime in any section it somewhat is 96% an identical ethnicity). yet maximum of all, it really is an fairly rural section - it has extra sq. miles in accordance to capita than the different state except Alaska. or perhaps it really is because there are such extremely some extra politicians in DC than there are in Vermont... Politicians will be somewhat risky. I hate it at the same time as human beings p.c.. one reality and examine out to instruct a idea round it...
