I am working on a boucle blazer and I do not own a serger. Since this fabric ravels just by looking at it, I am thinking of using bias tape to put around the seams. Are there any better methods that might be faster or cheaper?

Does your machine have a zig zag?? Try a line of zig zag stitching down the seam allowances.

How about using the product Fray Check?? You can buy it almost anywhere, from Walmart to JoAnn's.

Use french seams. They are more professional looking and because bias tape is a different fabric than the boucle washing or dry cleaning may shrink one more than the other, causing your seams to bunch.
