I have gum on a satinbedspread and inside the drum of my dryer. What will make it let go of the fibers ( other than ice) and dissolve off my dryer?

Stain Removal from Washable Fabrics

Apply cold water to harden residue. Scrape off excess with dull knife. Place stain area face down on an absorbent paper towel or cloth. Sponge with dry cleaning solvent according to the product directions. Move stain area to different locations on absorbent material as it picks up residue. Rinse; launder as usual.

Stain Removal from Non-washable Fabrics

Mark stained area and identify the staining material. Take to a commercial dry cleaning establishment for stain removal and cleaning.

Removal from Hard Surfaces

Sponge with dry cleaning solvent as according to the product directions. On some surfaces, applying an oily product such as salad oil, bath oil, peanut butter, or cold cream will soften the adhesive so it can be rubbed off.

Removing Gum from Hair

Rub cold cream or peanut butter on the hair strands affected. Massage the gum and peanut butter or cold cream between your fingers until the gum is loosened. Remove with a facial tissue.

Removing Gum from Carpet

Freeze the gum residue with ice cubes in a plastic bag. Break or scrape off brittle gum. Shampoo. (You may need to apply a dry cleaning product or pre-wash spray with a cloth before you shampoo.) Let dry, then vacuum.

Put a bunch of ice cubes in a very strong zip-lock sandwich bag. Place the ice pack you just made on the gum, and let it sit there for about 10 minutes. Afterwards, come back and the gum should be hard. If it's not hard, leave the ice pack on longer. Once the gum is hard, it's much easier to remove although it does take some time. Hope that helps!

Not sure it's a good idea, but I've used peanut butter on gum (and similar things) in carpets. Use smooth peanut butter, not crunchy.

The peanut butter seems to mix with the gum and form a mixture that is much easier to remove. But I suspect it leaves some grease behind. Anyway, it's better than having sticky gum there permanently.

I'm dead serious. Rub Peanut butter into the gummy area on the sheets. Not sure how it works, but the peanut butter breaks up the gum wonderfully. Put pre-wash spray on the peanut butter and wash it like you normally would.

Try it also in your dryer - you can wipe off the peanut butter/gum mix with a damp cloth.

Easy as that.

Lighter fluid (it`s almost the same as drycleaning solution) or WD-40. Both will wash out in the wash and safe to use. Just make sure if you use either one you rinse the dryer very well before using it.

Good LUck

The easiest and unnoticed way is:

Peanut Butter!

The oils in it will loosen the gum up. Clean and safe way to not damage anything.

I hear that by rubbing an ice cube over it, it will flake off. Worth a try.
