Purchase the dishwasher detergent that comes in squares that you just throw into the dishwasher before you start the washer. Then you don't need the soap door to work.

Using a dull knife slide under the soap door and cut away hardened detergent. Be careful not to lift door or force it open. After it is clear, slide door open. Use less detergent in that compartment. Overfilling caused the door to be stuck.

Make sure that the last cycle that you went through was done. Maybe someone opened it before it was totally finished. Or it is gummed up with soap. Pour HOT water on it, it will dissolve the sap gum.

..i'd buy a new dishwasher..but DUHH..thats just me..yea..spending money on stuff that isnt worth it..SOO me.
