What are some good chat sites?

Yahoo used to be good until they took away user created rooms and they moved it from web based to IM (it sucks trying to join rooms now). Are there any other good chat sites out there where you can join a room for your area (state or town)?

AOL has a chat called AIM all you do is down load it i have it and love it

its called Internet Relay Chat my boy! check out mIRC (a client to use) and chat to your hearts content.
