I am in the process of applying to business school. I have the undergrad GPA, GMAT scores, and work experience necessary to be a competitive applicant at any business school. However, I'm really fond of the local, virtually unknown, university I attended for undergrad. To make a long story short, if I attend the local school, will it be one of those decisions I question and possibly regret for the rest of my life?

It all depends on what you intend to do with the degree. Plan on having a job that might require the Name Brand degree? Then go to that school. If you plan on staying in the area and are only interested in the content the degree will provide, then there is no need to go to the Name Brand school.

well I am not a business major but If you go to Harvard, you get paid more and more prestige.
If you go to a regular school, you may not get paid more. It matters if you really like the major and can afford schools like Harvard. If you can't, it is really no big deal.
I mean how many people can you name from Harvard probably not a lot.

What I advise you to do is, as I am going to do, If you can afford it go. If you can't, just stay at the local school. It's not worth saying you went to har vard and have so much debt.
also It depends on what school you really like and get into.
Go visit the well known schools and see if you like them.
I am in the same boat as you b/c I am going to apply to UPENN.
I hope I get in.
