I've had bad side effects from Prozac and Zoloft. Am now on Effexor with much better luck. But that's me and we're all different. Talk to your doctor and ask to try something else. Finding a med that works for you can be a process, don't give up! There are programs to help pay for meds if you can't afford them (not insurance, programs where you get the meds free), so talk to your doctor about that as well. Good luck!

I've been taking Zoloft for 6 months and have had no side effects. I know that the drug works different in other people though. Just really depends on what state of mind your absolutely in.

I was on Zoloft for four months and it improved my situation a little bit. The troubling side effects I dealt with are dizziness, nausea, insomnia, weight gain and vivid/abnormal dreams nightly. But above all, I just didn't feel like myself when I was on it and I didn't like that. I decided to stop because it was not worth putting up with all that for so little benefit.

Don't ever take the sleeping pills route!!

1. They will damage your liver big time and you can get into serious health problems.

2. You will get hooked up on them and you won't be able to have a normal life any more if you don't take your pills everyday.

The sleeping pills industry is damaging our health by capitalizing on our ignorance, and by distracting people from effective and natural ways to deal with this problem. I had been taking prescription sleep medications [Ambien] for over 5 years. It stopped working and I simply took more. Still did not work. Nights were very difficult - medication put me to sleep but I would wake up after 2–3 hours with a strong sympathetic response (fast pulse, pounding heartbeat, wide awake alert). It was a very difficult cycle to break. I was really in bad shape due to lack of sleep.

After years of struggling I was able to cure my insomnia naturally and pretty fast. I followed the Sleep Tracks sleep optimization program, here is their official web -site if you want to take a look: http://www.insomniacure.net

Ohhh..and Good Luck!

Yes, didn't work at all. I take 5HTP (from the herbal remedies aisle at the grocery store), and my doctor has given me .5 mg Xanax for when the anxiety is out of control. The 5HTP helps relieve the everyday anxiety over absolutely nothing. The Xanax is only for when it is really bad. Talk to your doctor about this combo. Mine knows and is glad I looked into natural remedies and was more than happy to help me out with my really tough times.

It made my mom gain a lot of weight. It helped her with her depression but she eventually changed because she didn't like that it made her put on so much weight.

Zoloft sucks, and so does all the anit's, DO not take these harmful, terrible chemicals, I mean, No paxil, zoloft, wellbutrin, cymbalta, prozac, there like 55 more, they mess up your brain-give you possible seizures, and made me worse, yes it made me worse. I will die bleeding to death b-4 i pop another SNRI.
