Naw, I gave my mother my wedding band from the first marriage and she had it melted and molded to replace the wornout wedding band my father had. That may be tacky, but you've plenty of company, they do those things all the time.

No, this isn't Tacky at all. People do this all the time. By all means upgrading to a bigger diamond is wonderful. Any store will do this for you. Hope that he will enjoy the new ring. Have a wonderful day.

If its a small diamond, then let it stay in the drawer. Get you husband a ring that is from you, not originally intended for someone else in part or whole. Don't trade it in for something from you.

It is not tacky to use that diamond for another piece of jewelry. Not his wedding ring, though. It isn't tacky, but it isn't right either. Do you really want his symbol of his marriage you to always have a piece of his engagement to another woman in it?

Upgrade it why not? Usually when you are beginning your budget won't allow for a better stone etc...
If your in a position now to upgrade it. However, let your husband make the decision as it is HIS ring and it may have some sort of sentimental value. It was a long time ago let him have it if he wants it.

No I don't think that this is tacky at all. I think that it would be very nice of you to up grade your husbands ring. It sounds like a great idea.

Obviously, a ring is not the symbol of your life together.
However, I kind of think recycled engagement or wedding bands are jinxed in a way. I wouldn't reuse it no matter what. If you must, get credit, and get him a new one altogether.

I don't think that's tacky at all. It seems a shame to have the ring sitting in a drawer. Why not use it and enjoy it? :)

No rings are expensive and kinda wast if it doesn't work out. And it is not going to be the same ring, so he won't look at if and think of the past, What was old will now be new!!

You should at least use the diamond in the new ring. Also, you had better confront your husband with this before you trade it in. It may hurt his feelings
