I just lost my mp3 player which was worth a bit of money. I can't seem to get over it and it's driving me crazy.

I know exactly how u feel i lost my mobile phone sat night and was devastated over it ! I know its only material things but it still drives u crazy !!! Its not the 1st time i lost my mobile on a night out and was really devestated the first time around ... not sure why i kept taking my phones out with me ....
Not sure this part is gonna make u feel better ... but on both occasions my phones were handed in ... no they are not crap phones either ...... one was handed in to the police station and the other was handed in at the bar i was in .... so i was lucky in that respect ....
have u tried retracing your steps ? and ringing your local cop shop ? i know its a long shot but worth a try ...
U will feel better about losing your mp3 player as the days go by ... try and replace it asap as this usually helps... altho when i think about some of the things i have lost i always get that pang ... that sinking feeling in my stomach .....

I used to be the same as you. I remember crying myself to sleep over a ring I lost.

Then something 'real' happened, I lost my parents. Something like that puts things in perspective. I am not saying you shouldn't feel sad about losing something that cost you loads of hard earned cash... of course you should... but then move on and get over it and look on the bright side of things. A) You are still someone who CAN be upset about those things and B) You get to buy a new (probably better) one once you save up

Also insurance isn't a bad idea!

Yeah so grieve in the moment, move on and look for the positive.

Good luck!

Treat it as a lesson in impermanence, my friend!
Nothing lasts for ever.

By losing it just makes you appreciate its true worth. You should be grateful it was only you mp3 player you lost and not good health, family member, friendship, so on!

You lost your mp3 player? go out and about and look for some scrawny git with an ipod, smack the crap out of him and nick it. Double whammy, you get a new mp3 player and get to gratify your ego through violence, its all win win mate.

Sorry to hear about your loss.

Save up and get another one, hope whoever found it enjoys it.

Check to see if it has been handed in, can you claim for it on your house hold insurance.

But at the end of the day (you won't like this) these things are replaceable!

That is a toughie! I guess the only way to forget that one, is trying to replace it. So, raise some extra money and put aside.
Good luck Hon!

it is just material things. i know it gets you mad and down but if you lost somthing like your legs it is never going to be replaced but you can always replace your mp3 player.

i know it's really annoying. I just lost my USB Flash Drive and i've got work on it. Luckily i've got back-up files. Don't worry too much though, it is replacable
