the 50 inch screen is the diagonal measurement from one lower corner to the opposite upper corner...height of television is not 50 inches...hard to answer your question, i hope this helps..

50 inches is the diagonal measurement of the screen.. beyond that it could vary depending on the style and manufacter of the TV.
