Not sure how easy it would be to get one but how about an endocrinologist (a hormone specialist)? Perhaps there is a hormonal- or even nutritional imbalance. Did your GP do blood work to check hormones, thyroid - or iron levels?

Two years ago my hair was coming out rapidly - not in chunks just all over. It was scary. On my own I discovered a need to iron (I was so deficient my body was taking it away from my hair in order to keep other more vital functions going). But you can't just start taking iron because too much is dangerous.

Have you researched on your own of what could be the problem? That might give you an idea of where to look for help. Like is it falling out evenly all over or is it coming out in patches etc. Is there a family history of baldness?

Stress is also another huge factor in hair loss. If you are under a lot of stress you might need to find a way to reduce your stress levels and see if that makes a difference.

Change the doctor because the dermatologist is the one. If the is something else going on and you are not aware you should try an Internist. Good Luck!

Your GP (general practioner) family doc should be a good place to start. Otherwise, find a different dermy.
