I was given a laptop from a friend. For some reason I dont know whether it is a virus or not but when I turn on my computer its turns on fine but when windows come up all of a sudden I get an error message saying that windows cannot pull up. then all of a sudden my screen turns blank. Is it a virus or is there a software I can use to solve my problem.

You should probably reload windows onto it.

just reinstall the windows and it should work find..
but i'm afraid you may loos your files in there
