One of the big lies about the bible that comes to my mind is that people say that it is historically inaccurate when, in fact, it is very accurate.

There are hundreds of lies in the Bible, but you asked for "lies about the Bible". Many people don't read questions closely. The big lie is that it's all literally true. There are contradictions and scientific errors galore in it. Some morons are audacious enough to deny this. They only make fools of themselves to logical people. If the Bible is the word of Yahweh the god of Moses, Yahweh is an award-winning ignoramus. Don't tell me I cannot judge Yahweh-God. I am a free USA citizen, and I can call any ignoramus just that, whether he be a Bible thumper or an imaginary deity.

One thing specifically is that people think it says that God won't put more on you than you can bear. It doesn't say that. It says that He will not allow a temptation to come upon you that you will not be able to resist. There's been many things I couldn't handle. I've had emotional break-downs. But don't get me wrong: I wasn't depending on God. He empowers us with His Holy Spirit. He is all-powerful. Therefore, with Him working through us, we can do all things. We can bear all things. (Check out 1 Corinthians 13 where it tells us that love bears all things. When we have God in us, we have love in us. "For God is love." Also check out Philipians 4:13) Another lie about the Bible is that it's not true.

That everything other than that which is historically verifiable, is quite probably a bunch of hooey.

Large portions of it are stolen from other religions.
