Yes, actually. I grew up poor, my whole family has been poor as long as we have been here in the country. Granted, my parents have made their way to middle class, but it took alot of work and many years trying to get out of debt. Myself on the other hand did what I was supposed to do. I went to school everyday, did well and graduated with honors. I went directly to college and moved away from home. I, unfortunately, had to take a sybatical for a few years because I had to get a full time job to pay the bills. I finally started back to school to get my degree, I have a full time job that pays me well, and I have more than I ever thought I would. I am very proud of myself of not following the "hillbilly" stereotype that was placed on me. Don't get me wrong, I will always be thankful of who I am, and how I was raised, and never forget it. But I am glad that when I have children, I will be able to give them what the want and need.

Well, with this job I've got as home support worker, I never thought I'd be so good at it because I was always shy. Now it doesn't bother me to go into a strangers home and take care of what needs to be done. I also don't have any aversion whatsoever to bathing people and that had been the one thing I was dreading doing. So for me, I am happy with who I've become.

In some ways, I am. I never thought I would raise 4 children and become a published poet.

Yes, i never thought i'd get my band up and running, and to become a husband and father on the way is more than i'd thought i'd be.

In some ways, yes, I think I am. Maybe not with my 'career path' but in other areas of my life.
