I'm not gay but -
I do believe that the bible was written by a bunch of homophobic HUMAN MEN. I'm not sure if I believe in God or not, but if he does exist, he made them the way they are because I firmly believe that one does not choose to be gay.

They celebrate everything surrounding life, look into it!... Many people respect the bible as any other HIStory book...Why not live & let live and if you can't love then ..".get out the way" and let everyone elce...What about this idea...when the bible was written it was extreemly important to POPULATE the empty earth remember all the BEGATS..? man 2 man produces no offspring! HELLO!? could it be that simple? Now we are overpopulaed and dont need a buncha BEGATTEN" HA ! I may be on to something ! ha ha ha. Listen, how about this : GOD is who/what YOU say SHE...HE... I've experienced God's Divine Love several times in my life regardless of who I was loving. It just happened, and I wasn't practicing any religion, although I have always been very spiritual. It has nothing to do with a so-called interpretation of the Bible which is a very narrow view about God and spirituality. You only have the English translation to base it upon.
God's Love is totally Unconditional meaning that there are NO conditions to receive God's love. It is superior to human love. Humans love others based on conditions and can only love a drop of what God can give us. You are coming from the view point that on the condition we love someone of the opposite gender, we then can know and believe in God. This stems from man's ego and is not of God. God is who we are inside, every single one of us, all races, all cultures, all religions, all non-religious, all genders, all sexual orientations, etc. You cannot asolutely separate God from all living beings that exist on this planet. Regardless of one's choices whether they are good or bad, they do not in any way hinder one's ability to experience and believe in God.
If you really want to understand this some more, then try to read some books on spirituality such as in Eastern Philosophies rather than just sticking to one narrow, view which itself does not show the big picture. That is like looking at a building from one side only not having an idea of how big, long it is unless you walk around the building then can you have an idea of what it looks like. The same concept applies to understanding the spirituality of God.

I am a gay practicing Christian and attend a gay Christian church. We know and can refute all the so-called Biblical arguments against us. I believe God has no problem with loving people of any orientation. The Bible is subject to problems in translation, just as any other ancient text: translation incompatabilities, accidental ommisions by copiers, and additions or subtractions coinciding with the prevailing culture (the word "homosexual" was first added in the 1960s). That there are five passages repeatedly used against me no longer bothers me. There is an overwhelming number of passages about God's love, commands to love your enemy, and to not pass judgement. Enough that they can't be refuted as copyist error.

To believe in God is not to be religious. My creator made no mistakes when he made me. What God has created, no man shall tear down. The bible was written by man as all religious books are. God speaks to me through my heart and I believe in him, I do not disgust him, and I am not living immorally. God loves us all even the ignorant bastards who have something negative to say about other people. Believe in a higher being, someone created us, but you don't have to believe anything written in a religious book. I hope that helps sort things out for you.

It is definitely a choice of what you would like to believe in.... But just believe in something......The god I believe in wouldn't have so much judgment and anger toward people... IF you are talking about the re-written bible, that has been written by man.... that is not of gods word for today.... This new testament and etc has been reinterpreted so many times is just not accurate for today... Not to mention if it was almost everyone on on each would be going to hell for something..... You have to sifting through the crap....

I grew up Christian, went 4 years to an sped up Christian practise highschool, 5 years of seminary, and spent 8 years as a Fundamentalist Baptist pastor and missionary. God heavily isn't real. You even pronounced on your very own question which you in easy terms want to have faith in something. there is not any choose for that. historic guy regarded up on the celebs and pronounced "i do no longer understand... the Universe could have been made by ability of something supernatural." yet while guy desperate that he had to objective to understand, he found out that there become a sturdy rationalization and God wasn't needed as an excuse to describe issues he did no longer understand. no person pronounced i had to be an atheist. i had to be a Christian. yet i could no longer proceed, with the aid of fact Christianity is purely too of course incorrect.

No, because the Bible was written by man... passed down through generations from word to mouth... then translated into many different languages... now, I'm not saying the Bible is wrong, but it makes me wonder how accurate it is... if we love God and accept Jesus into our hearts, why does it matter who we sleep with as long as we're good people who respect the rights of others and treat others with kindness and respect?

I'm not one that know the bible well. however, i do know that loving God isn't wrong. people in general quote the bible for good and bad to prove points. One of my favorite scriptures is John 3:16- "For God so loved the world that He gave his only begotten son. That whom so ever shall believe shall have everlasting life." I live by this scripture and don't find it a contradiction in any way for loving my Savior. I'm a witness and will continue to be one. God bless

Who wrote the Bible? MEN. Also, the Bible clearly states women and slaves are property. It says you cannot eat shellfish or have sex until marraige. Even then, you can have sex only if you want a child. Birth control is a no-no.
I'm an atheist and a Lesbian. I do have friends who believe in God and are gay, but why should you care. After all, it doesn't bug you. Their God is the exact same as you God. Not some other God who only likes Gay people.
GET OVER YOURSELF!!!!

Whether they feel abandoned by God or not, does not stop them from beleiving in God, because most of them find it easier to accept a prevailing dogma which they have been raised to accept, rather than to rebel against it and examine the underlying logical fallicies inhering therein. "God" provides answers to the questions that they, like all others, avoid pondering out of fear: what is the meaning of existance, is there an afterlife, am I a good person....etc....
"God" is the pat easy excuse that our culture enculturates us to accept; that our society socializes us to have belief in.
Gays and their community do not lead any better self-examined lives as a result of their sexual orientation than anyone else. They are not on any higher intellectual playing field than the rest of the civilization which they are a part of.
