There are kids stores and even Home Depot that have guards for everything that a kid should be kept out of. Besides the usual ones for outlets and cabinet doors I know that I have seen ones that cover the oven knob. Go take a look around and you will find what you need very easily.

It could be worse. I have seen a little kid who has dragged a kitchen chair over to the stove and then climbed up on the kitchen counter to reach the box of Cheerios that are on top of the refrigerator - so just reaching without climbing isn't too terrible as long as you have the guards in place.

Yes, they make a little plastic thing that covers the knob of the oven to keep kids from playing with them. There is also a lock to keep kids from trying to climb inside of the oven. I think they are made by SafetyFirst, but not quite sure of the manufacturer. They sell them at Target or Lowes or ToysRUs.

Safety First makes a lock for the oven...I found a site on-line...it's priced very reasonable, I think $6.88. The link is http://babysafetyforless.com/store/productdetails.php?prodid=161

I don't know but you could try a company called One step Ahead. they have some of the most ridiculous child safety items (not that an oven lock is ridiculous, it's not, but If they have a website, you'll see, it's silly)
good luck

Our dials are on the front also. We pulled the knobs off (they're made to be able to come off). Now they are just metal posts/stubs that are pretty hard to turn for an adult...impossible for a toddler.

Just pull the knobs off and stick them in a drawer until you need to use them.

Take the knobs off and that way they won't be able to turn them.
