This is a little tricky because a lot of people just want to devide 12 by 18...
...but you are looking for the INCREASE percent....
So. You first find out what the increase is by taking 18 points minus 12 points and you find out the increase in the second game is 6 points.
Then you divid the increase points ( 6 ) by the first game (12)
6 divided by 12 equals = 0.50 which is the same as saying 50 percent.
So the answer is the percent of increase in points in two games is 50 percent.

The others are right, but here is a simple way of doing it: He scored 12, then 18. He scored 6 more in the second game. Therefore he increased his score by 6. So what percentage is 6 over 12. = 6 X 100 divided by 12. simple = 50 percent....

12+18=30 which is 100% of the points. The second game scored 6 more points than the first. You need to find out what percent 6 points equals out of the total 100%. 6 divided by 30 equals .20 or 20%. 6 points is a 20% increase over the first game. (If I'm way off then someone please tell me.)

To find a percent increase or decrease, find the difference between the 2 scores and divide by the original score.
