Two uses of the term.

One is a conference of judges. Like a professional association meeting. It may be focused on recent changes in judicial procedure, or as part of a professional caucus, or just a social gathering of professional colleagues.

The other usage refers to a conference with the judge, usually including the attorneys and parties on a large case. This is an informal way to discuss procedural issues, scheduling and other matters that don't require a formal hearing.
