The wax that actually burns is a chemical reaction (rapid oxidation). Some wax simply melts and drips down the candle. That's a physical change.

Tearing, grinding, heating, and dissolving are physical changes.

HCl+Mg, NaHCO2+vinegar, and NaCl+AgNO3 are chemical reactions.

Chemical. But if you look closer (quantum level, superstrings, etc.), it's also physical.
