built in stove top, built in stove and oven, built in microwave, in other words any appliance that is not free standing,,,such as most refrigerators are free standing...built ins are just that, they are incorporated into the cupboards or counters...

If you could physically turn your home upside down, any appliance that would fall out is not a built-in. While cabinetry and countertops usually contain built in appliances some refrigerators are built in as well.

"Built In" appliances would be any appliance that is permanently attached to the house. This could be any of the following: oven, cook top, stove, microwave. refrigerator. If it is "actually" built into a wall or counter it is considered "built in".
