I am currently pregnant with twins (found out at 7 weeks) and am now 9 weeks. Are the chances high that I will lose one of them? I don't go back to the doc until October 9th and i'm worried that when I go back and get an u/s there will only be one baby. I don't have any major medical problems and im 23 years old( I don't know if that makes a difference.) Can anyone put my mind at ease?

Only if there is a problem with preganancy in your medical history. Otherwise, you should have nothing to worry about...except for raising twins! ;)

from what i understand, when you lose one it is caused by one of 2 things, either something wasnt right with one of them, or the mother was under enormous strain. Most of the time when you lose one, you know, you will have cramping bleeding, or you just may not feel right. You are young, so thats good, eat right, think happy, make a list of questions or concerns you may have before you go to the doctor, I sometimes blank out when i get in to see the doc. As long as you are healthy you should be fine, there is always a chance you could lose a baby (whether you are pregnant with one or two) it can happen to a healthy person, but most of the time women make it through, you will be fine relax, its normal to be overly concerned about the safety of your kids (its part of being a mommy). Good luck to you and you little blessings.

Quit worrying.Worrying is NOT good for you when you are pregnant. Call your doctor. Ask him/her if there are any extra risks and considerations to deal with.Be sure to do this because peace of mind is important. May be they have a group in your area that deals with twins too. The nurse should be able to help you with this. Any time you have concerns you call the nurse and ask. From what I know babies born healthy are more of the norm them pregnancies that go wrong. You should however not over do. Eat well and drink plenty of fluids.Get plenty of sleep. Really! Enjoy this vacation as you will be pretty busy for the next 18 years!

No your chances are about 50/50. If both babies are meant to be then they will be. My second daughter started as twins and we lost one, it was devastating but we focused on the one we still had. Just because that happened doesn't me if we're having twins this time it'll end the same. We can't answer that question for you, it's something only a higher power knows. Good luck to you and your babies!

First of all congradulations, second, millions of women have twins or even more babies at a time every year. There is no reason to worry about the twins this early in the pregnancy especially if you are healthy, just take good care of yourself and the babies. Prayers always help, mine are with you!

if you are young and healthy, you should be fine. get some books, contact a twins group either in your hometown or Yahoo groups will have other parents that can give you advice and yoiu can talk to.

talk to your doctor and nurse. relax and enjoy being pregnant and the wonder of the little lives you will be shaping very soon.

congratulations.

I'm sure you won't lose a twin. My aunt had 10 babies. i have 36 cousins, so im sure yours will be fine. If you are really worried go to the doctor. But i am sure seriously, you will be fine.

ditto to the poster above...

the most difficult part will be after they're born!

Just take it easy, there really isn't anymore to worry about at this stage than with a single pregnancy. You're young, and (presumably) heathy. Just enjoy this time - and get some rest while you can!!!

you need to relax and enjoy being pregnant. No one can tell you your chances of loss, the possibility is there, but don't let it consume you. Congratulations on the babies!!
