Maybe I'm all screwed up, but if I had to choose my kids or my man...I'd choose my Kids. My sister would take any man over her kids anyday, (abusive Husband bouncer) And my brother thinks his wife should put him on a pedistal above all else, (except God)...I see women all the time, chase men, and give up their kids for a man, or deal with child abuse for a man. WHAT IS UP WITH THAT? Am I a freak for thinking my kids are the most important thing in my life? I'd die for them, I'd leave (or KILL) a man in a heartbeat that abused them...

I'm with you girl. My husband hears it (and it usually makes him mad - but that's the way it goes) and knows its true. I know many a woman who would choose differently. I'm glad there are a few of us out there.

Kids all the way.

I'd choose my kids any day over a man. My kids come first before anybody. No your not a freak for thinking your kids are the most important thing in your life. There is just some people who don't care about their children. I would never let a man abuse me or my children.

i agree with you one hundred percent. I think that alot of people in this world should NOT have children. Some are too selfish, some are too young and end up resenting their kids or feeling like they "lost out" on something all the while they could care less that their kids are losing out on a loving mother. You know those girls in high school and college that could NOT BE WITHOUT a man...they were insecure or emotionally unstable..thats how they turn out...it upsets me that people are like that, but they are, and you can't spend too much time worrying about them....just give yourself a hug and a pat on the back for being the WONDEFUL mommy that you are..children can sense and feel love from their mothers and yours are very lucky to have you!!=)
P.S. THE BIBLE IS NOT TO BE TAKEN LITERALLY..AND IF YOU THINK THAT GOD WANTS HUMANS TO CHOSE A MAN OR WOMAN THEY HAVE FEELINGS FOR, OVER THEIR OWN FLESH AND BLOOD -YOU CRAAAAZY...

If you're all screwed up for feeling this way, then so am I. My kids come first before any man. Even when they've managed to get on my last possible nerve. The precious little monsters are my life and I don't know what I would do without them. A man, i can do plenty without one of them. Not that I don't love the man I have, but my kids come first. I don't get how any mother can give up her kids. (To live a life of freedom and no worries?) I worry about what they would do without me.

When it comes to abuse, no a man should never be more important then your kids. I do believe kids should not come between parents because they are supposed to grow old together and the kids are going to grow up and leave. However if the men in your life is going to abuse your children he is not worth growing old with anyway.

No way, I think its you who have made a decision to
bring these children into this world, u can;t simply abandon them, leave them like that. Even if you do,
where would they go, what would the future be for them, and questions like that would definetly haunt u through the rest of ur life if u are bound to do so. If someone is apt to make such a decison , I feel the interest of there
children should be the utmost priority, and think things out sensibly.

I understand what you're saying, and I agree. I always tell my husband, "I CHOSE you, but GOD gave me those girls!"

But we both found a way to feel really good about that decision. We also believe that "the two become one", so we can feel good putting our daughters first, since where one is the other is too. There's no resentment, but I'm also married to a really secure, generous man. Weaker men have a problem with that.

My husband is my greatest blessing, but there would be no choice, since both of us would lay down our lives for our girls.

I'm like you...I will NEVER understand putting a man, especially a bad man, before your children. Blech!

I have chosen my kids over a man and I have no regrets. I have also decided that a relationship isn't worth my time and effort at this point I would rather raise the kids on my own. I'll worry about a relationship when I'm 50 and the kids have their own life. So, I completely agree with you.

I'm not married, nor do I have children yet, but when I am married and have children I would always choose my kids. My first responsibility is to them, because I brought them into the world, and they are a part of me. I would want my husband to feel the same way.

Your sister would choose her man over her kids precisely because, as you say, she chooses messed up relationships, so her priorities aren't really straight. But for most women, maternal instinct is so strong that they wouldn't doubt for a second and protect their children over anybody else in the world.

I don't think anyone in the world loves children more than I do. But, the Bible does support the answer that your husband is to come before your precious children. Saying all of that, I don't believe that God means for you to stay in a situation where your children are being harmed.
