I think it starts with Santa- and is near the San Andreas Fault.

kak is right. it is "Santa Carla" which is a city name made up for the movie. It visually is represented to most resemble Santa Cruz, but speculation on the name is that it is a sort-of hybridization of the two Bay Area cities of Santa Clara and San Carlos. The latter three mentioned, all being real cities in California.

The name of the town in the film is Santa Carla. The film was actually made in Santa Cruz. Santa Carla is fictional. :-)

II am pretty sure it's Santa Cruz. Yup, just looked it up, it was actually filmed on the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, hence the rides...
