Most Krogers in Dallas have a Coin Star machine. You pour your change in, and for a fee, it counts it and spits out paper cash. And NO, Neha, banks will not take your change, unless you roll it first (who wants to spend the time to do that). You can't just take a big jar of change to a bank.

Chevy Chase bank in the Washington DC area have coinstar machines that will count them for you and give you a ticket to be cashed at the teller. There is no fee for this and you walk out with Dollars.

Save it in a jar or piggy bank, once it gets full, take to your local bank or to a coin machine in a grocery store. Cash it in and then put the money towards your savings account. If you have enough put it in a CD or IRA. Good luck and keep saving!

Put it in an empty water jug. It is surprising how fast it adds up. Empty ours every 2-3 years, rolling all the coin and it's enough for a quiet weekend away without putting a dent in our savings.

Buy a coin sorter at walmart or other stores. I've been sorting my change for years. It adds up pretty quickly and makes it easy to cash in at a bank.
