I am a 17 years old girl, and I get depressed very easily. I've been like that since I am 13. Everytime it seems to get better, something happens and I get depressed again. I'm a shy girl and I don't talk much in school. (Don't tell me to be more out going, I HAVE TRIED. I can't! I'm just not like that.) I have a few friends, and I mostly only talk to them in school, I'm usually always alone outside of school and spend my time on the computer. (Sigh). Also, I don't find myself too pretty. Geez, I can't even seem to get a boyfriend, and that annoys me so much. Anyway, even though I feel like this, I always smile and try to make people laugh, so people have no idea how I feel like. I don't want to tell people in real life about the way I feel anyway... Sometimes I even think about suicide. =/ This isn't exactly a question, I juts had to get this off my chest. Even though, I'd like to know how I could become a little more happy..

So glad you are reaching out for help! It must be so hard to be struggling like this. Just know that no matter what you are going through, suicide, or hurting yourself in any way, is not the answer.

It's great you are seeking help through Yahoo Answers. It’s also important to reach out to someone, like a trusted adult, a parent, a school counselor, a teacher, a coach, or a minister.

You should probably get a mental health check-up and consider counseling. You don't have to live with struggles like this. There is help available. Thoughts of suicide are serious and you did the right thing to seek help. To talk to someone right away, you might consider contacting a Hotline to speak with a counselor. Many Crisis Hotlines are available, 24/7. Help is available. You do not have to struggle alone.

AG, Counselor
