Walking will help induce labor. It's not a guarantee though.
My son was born at 37 weeks but they broke my wifes water because her labor was stopping despite the fact that she was 7 cm dilated. They don't like to send women home who are 7 cm.
Congratulations on the baby

The doctors had my sister walk around the hospital to induce labor when she was pregnant with her 3 children. So I would have to say, yes it does help.

It does help sometimes and it keeps her from getting as many muscle cramps. I had three ,walking only helped with one as for as dialating, but the muscle cramps were unbelievable with my boys.I guess you figured it out the one it helped with was a girl. It is different for different people. State of mind helps,if you convince her it is helping it will at least help with the pain.

at my childbirth type the different night...the instructor instructed us that no quantity of strolling will make you bypass into hard paintings. She pronounced in case you experience like strolling...then walk...yet do no longer walk 4 miles thinking that is going to jumpstart hard paintings. as quickly as you start up getting some contractions (start up early hard paintings) on an identical time as toddler is shifting around attempting to get that is head to slot interior the pelvis then strolling could help rocking toddler around and getting that is head into the pelvis. you will bypass into hard paintings while toddler and physique are waiting. All strolling does is the two help distract from the contractions and the gravity "enables" toddler get into place, it does not magically convey approximately hard paintings!

Walking does not induce labor but can relieve anxiety. Let her walk if she wants to. You'll both have to hang in there and let nature take its course.
As for the people who suggested sex (with orgasm) and nipple stimulation, these activities can encourage mild uterine contractions whether or not a woman is pregnant.

I have a home remedy that is guaranteed to induce labor. Tell her to take 2 tablespoons of castor oil. Many women I know have tried this. It makes you go to the bathroom (#2) and that act induces the labor. It's also good because a woman wants to be "empty" for labor with all the pushing etc.
