It's called Mirage and it came out in the eighties during the big slasher movie phase, I think it was 1989. It was a typical slasher set up - a bunch of horny teenagers go camping and start getting horribly murdered. However, I thought it was really unique cos the killer drove in a black SUV rather than having a mask, and it was set in the Californian desert, rather than the woods or the suburbs. It had a blonde slutty heroine rather than a shy brunette one which was also different, and the killer went cannibal. It was really violent too, one boy got buried up to his neck in sand and then had a live grenade put in his mouth. in the end the police couldn't find the killer and blamed the murders on the surviving girl. The reason I'm asking is that I can't find any sign of it on the web or an DVD, and I wanna know if I actually watched it, or was it all just a....Mirage! (Ok that was lame, but whatever just answer the question.)

Personally I thought The Grudge was weak. You have to go classic in order to find good horror movies and remakes aren't worth the $8-$10 you pay to see them. You need a good ghost flick there are two listed below. I have seen just about every horror flick as well and the ghost pics did it for me. With the hack and slasher films you know what to expect but they don't draw you in the way and good ghost movie will. If you haven't seen The Entity watch it with surround sound. I, Madman The Changling with George C. Scott The Entity with Barbara Hershey Happy Birthday to Me Basically any scary flick made before the 90s is a good way to go. Don't go too far back into the days of black and white movies.

I remember that film. You are right about the title but not the year, it was made in 1990. It stars Jennifer McAllister as Chris. If you can't find the film it is probably because it is not in circulation anymore. That happened with a film I loved from the 80's called the Sender. Check ebay and then there is always the Movie Trading Co. They might be able to track down a copy for you. Good Luck!

The best horror film I have seen was called "Fun House". When it was playing in the movie theater I worked in we refused to let parents bring their kids in.

Rent it, you will think of it every time you to Disney!
