my 5 year old has developmental verbal dyspraxia. if you have had a child with the same, how are they getting on now? are they managing to speak clearly? xx

my son has been using sign language since he was 18 months old.

Take hope- as a child I suffered from this and was not speaking clearly until after seven. It was not diagnosed (since in those days it was unheard of) but subsequent research on my part has pinpointed that this was the problem. However it in no way affected my subsequent development and education.

I know you didn't ask for advice,
But heres some anyway! ensure that your child doesn't lose confidence in communicating as this can lead behaviour problems relating to frustration.
Try using signing or Makaton.
