Sister met up with old boyfriend she had when she was 18. She is 51 now. she is finacially broke, he lives in another state. they have been talking, he is moving back here. and he told her that he is going to pay for everything for her, that she doesn't need to work. he will buy her a ranch with horses, pay off her mortgage, etc etc..as long as he can stay at her house on his days off work. he is going to drive a tractor trailer 10 days on 4 days off. she has 3 kids 18, 16, and 15. is this situation good for them? they are all boys. Do you think it sounds like her will really come through with buying horses, ranch, car, and so much more. Should I try to talk to her about it or just stay out of it.

she also wants him to get custody of his 10 year old daughter and she said she will raise her.

If he is gonna buy all these things for her and he has all this money, why does he have to stay with her on his days off?
Sounds kinda hinky to me...

The answer really lies in what kind of a person this guy is. Does he have other motives? Is he looking for more from her than just friendship and is she willing to give it? What happens if they can't all get along? This situation can work but like any other relationship it needs to be spelled out and answers figured out to all the what ifs. In this case it might be best to actually draw up a legal agreement just to make sure the kids are protected and always have a place to live.

well that one can be tricky because some men will ie and say they will do things so they can mooch off of you. but if he said hes going to buy here everything she needs then he shoudnt have to live with her he should be buying her another house and all the essentials. i dont like the way that sounds and she has boys too!! how does her kids feel abotu this and taking in another child as your own and adopting will be hard ! ithink shes just thinking about the love part of it and not the reality.

hmm, sounds fishy to me. Why would he have to stay in her house when he is of work if he can buy a ranch? Make your sister think about it and have him buy the ranch, than he has a place to stay.

I think it is your sisters business, stay out of it, unless it is hurting the kids.
