may i recommend to you, my dear, that you call up to find where they are at and for you to hand deliver it to human resource center because most of the time they will delete any resumés that are being sent by email.
if you seriously do think that waiting a week will do the trick then wait but please keep one thing in mind:

Remember, they get tons of emails when they post jobs on the internet, not just from local area, but from around the globe. It takes time to go through every resume and cover letter. So, don't get discouraged if you don't get a return phone call right away. The best thing you can do is, just make a phone call to the person and let them know how serious you are about the position and leave your name and number. This way they will search for your resume and take a strong approach to it. If they don't call you back or send something in the mail, you did not get the position. I wish you the best of luck and keep sending out the resumes, remember its all in the numbers. The more you put out the more chances you have in getting a call.

I would, but include a note explaining that you had already sent it in, but was making sure that they received it. Also I would call 3-4 days after and ask if they received your resume/cover letter, and if they had a chance to review it yet. If they say yes, then say "Great, when would you like me to come in for an interview?" They will either hem and haw, or give you a time. Be brave!! Lots of luck to you!!!

I would send the resume to the other person listed on the website along with a covering letter and probably wait few days for response. It is a normal courtesy for companies to respond to applicants the status of their application. Good luck.

Answers to your questions - Yes, Yes, and No. While it is good to be persistent, understand that the people who hire and interview job candidates are busy by nature and they probably just haven't gotten to you yet. But it is good to follow up. However, having said that, I perceive that going to their office in person smacks of some desperation, so I wouldn't do that. I would just be persistent through email and the telephone.
Also, keep your options open. Keep applying for other jobs as well in your field of expertise.

Whoever it says to contact, contact them. In general, when it comes to job prospects, whoever has your resume', call them in about 4-5 business days to follow-up
