its interesting to listen to ur views on this especially the answer stating that the question is nonsense.. going on to say in most cases... if it was nonsense the writer would state in every case !!! I havent been a victim of crime but each and every day read stories and listen to conversation stating that the law protects everyone but the person the crime has been committed against....!! surely everyone feels that at some point??

According to the media there are any number of injustices - they are reported in a sensational manner - because it sells papers - and often only SOME of the FACTS are there and many are missing.

However, I do believe that the Criminal Justice System lets down many, many victims on a regular basis - like not jailing burglars because they write poetry!!!! Or other such rubbish - BUT these stories we obtain from the PRESS/MEDIA/TABLOIDS. There does not seem to be such a thing as unbiased reporting anymore and the facts don't matter - only paper sales and therefore INCOME and PROFIT!

I guess we need the politicians to make sensible laws and to ENSURE that offenders are suitably dealt with. And whilst we need to bear in mind the Human Rights Act, it needs to be applied appropriately - if you have subjected someone to a crime, then your level of entitlement to certain Human Rights, should drop. We need judges and magistrates who live in the real world. We need the press to stop their sensationalism and report the TRUTH. Maybe then things would not look SO bad?

Because all the decent people sit at home and shout at the TV or raise issues on website from the comfort of their own home instead of all banding together as one voice and marching on Parliament Square. Don't agree with the Mayday rioters but respect them because the are prepare to stand up and be counted for what they believe. Until all the 'decent people' are willing to do the same it will be ever thus. That and creating a law that requires balanced reporting by the media who try to convince us they are a public service when the only ones they serve are their shareholders.

Good question. I think the law is there to protect everyone, mainly decent people but the unscrupulous ones, most of the times also the rich ones, know ways to take advantage of loopholes and make law work for them.

Yeah, all those stupid laws that put criminals in jail don't count, I guess.

People have rights, even the accused. If you don't like it, move to someplace that doesn't give those accused of crimes the chance to prove their innocence. You know, like Somalia.

It's better to let a guilty man go free than to put an innocent man in jail.

Innocent until proven guilty. This concept is meant to protect the innocent but invariably protects criminals. Normal citizens just don't have any rights, buy a gun, protect yourself.

Its because all these lawyers earn there money, making certain that there are all these criminals and scum bags on the loose to commit as many crimes as possible!

It often seems that way. Certainly in the UK the criminals must be laffing their socks off, there often isn't enough justice to fit the crimes.

You are not listening properly. Laws are to protect everyone. Do not deceive yourself.

are you seriuos...what happened....??? either ways if theres evidence then your good if there aint then your boned....no matter if your the "good one" or the "bad one". the system was made so that people wont abuse it with the whole BS of he said she said. thats why if there's evidence then your good. sometimes the "decent" people dont have that...so get over it and get on with your life....really...
