Well, the Supreme Court has already ruled (in Cruzan) that an innocent person cannot be forced to undergo any invasive medical procedure against their will.

So, trying to force implants on general citizens would be a direct constitutional violation. Not that violating the constitution is anything new to the Bush regime.

As far as criminals, or at least convicted felons, that is arguably legal. I think it's a bad idea, but it is not unconstitutional.

No, I don't think anyone should be forced to have any implanted chips. You may be interested to know that in the book of Revelations, the "mark of the beast" is described as a sore in the hand or forehead, both likely places for a chip with a leaky battery. And no, Bush wouldn't dream of chipping anyone. Howard Dean? Maybe... he doesn't drink alcohol, he doesn't smoke, he doesn't drink coffee, he doesn't even eat chocolate. Never trust someone with no vices, statistically, they're probably nuts!.

For the people who are saying this is the stupidist question ever. They don't keep up with the news, we have Motorola who is now in the works of making those chips to be inserted into people. The FDA is also in the works of approving it.
Why would anyone trust Bush?

For crying out loud, NO Bush is not going to make it mandatory to have chips implanted in us. That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. They're not putting a chip in me and I think most Americans agree with me.

He is already doing that, when you get your hand stamped at the fair, or at some event, they have a secret chip that is forced into the skin.

And don't beleive that those eye tests at the doctor, the one when they puff air is just a test, no, they use that to blow a chip right behind your eye so they see everything you see.

Oh god, this is the stupidest question ever. No, he will not do that. Especially if it were for regular day people.

When it comes to criminals, what kind?
Are we talking convicted rapists? Child molestors? Theives?

I think it may just depend on what type of criminal and their criminal background.

But I don't know about an actual chip... you may be thinking too much sci-fi =P

I think if a person has a horrible criminal record they should have a chip implanted in them, otherwise no. Bush wouldn't even think up of something that weird!

Signs of trouble for you:

The drugs of abuse may give the user a feeling of pleasure, but it is important to remember that they are toxic substances. We are constantly being made aware that long-term drug abuse can be bad for our health and that even a single use of a drug can kill.

Drug addiction is a brain disease. Although initial drug use might be voluntary, drugs of abuse have been shown to alter gene expression and brain circuitry, which in turn affect human behavior. Once addiction develops, these brain changes interfere with an individual’s ability to make voluntary decisions, leading to compulsive drug craving, seeking and use.

The impact of addiction can be far reaching. Cardiovascular disease, stroke, cancer, HIV/AIDS, hepatitis, and lung disease can all be affected by drug abuse. Some of these effects occur when drugs are used at high doses or after prolonged use, however, some may occur after just one use.
