since 99... the curse goes as following:

1999-Barry Sanders....suddenly and mysteriosly retired a week before training camp

2000-Dorsey Levens....had a terrible year and didnt make NFL cut the following year

2001-Eddie George.....he was cursed by bobbling a pass in the playoffs. The pass was then intercepted by Baltimore Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis, who returned the ball for a touchdown. George. He was the injured the following season and his career followed a downward spiral

2002-Daunte Culpepper...Vikings had a 4-7 record with Culpepper starting.. he then had a season ending injury

2003-Marshall Faulk...Suffered a season ending injury and an overalll terrible career after he returned

2004-Michael Vick....Suffered a broken Fibula in the preseason...only played the last 5 games and played terrible

2005-Ray Lewis....He had an injury that kept him out of the last game of the regular season. It was also Lewis' first season without a single interception

2006-Donovan McNabb....Had a highly controversial argument with T.O. than suffered a season ending sports hernia

2007-Shaun Alexander...Suffered a broken foot, out for the season

yeah alexander is hurt now (but no telling if it's serious yet)

You can call it a coincidence, and that's all fine and good, but it's happened some 4 or 5 years in a row (and add one more if alexander goes down) McNabb was the curse of 06 (the TO incidents that ruined the eagle's season)

this used to be the "sports illustrated" curse. A quarterback (I think a qb?) who was on the cover of sports illustrated had a BAD stoke of luck soon after, and I can't even tell you how many years the SI cover curse lasted.

well, as times change, so has "the curse" LOL. I think it's great, being part of the first NES generation. Now the poor guy who has been on the cover of the Madden football video game has had the "superstitious crosshairs" on him. ESPN even did a story about this!! The Madden curse started back in 2001. I forget who it was after that, but it's included Vick, Faulk, Lewis, McNabb (and now this year possible Shawn Alexander)

You might not believe in curses but this is pretty funny to think about.

Football stars are prone to injury. It is not a curse, but rather the law of averages. Only big stars get the cover. That usually means running back, reciever, or quarterback. They all get hurt a lot.

The Madden Curse is complete bs. It's sheer coincidence, nothing more!
